The more I reflect on the nature and fruit of his incredulity, the more it seems to me that Thomas’s hesitancy, and subsequent surrender, contain profound lessons on the nature of genuine faith. If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater. 1 John 5:9 We are familiar with the story of St. Thomas, “one of the twelve,” who was not with his brothers when Jesus appeared to them on Easter day. “Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails,
